Dried Fruits & Nut Loaf

Everyday in the last two weeks I have been getting regular updates on how Delhi *sweet home* is getting colder with each passing sunset.

If only I was there, all those dry fruits that my family has loaded with me for the winters would have been used and appreciated.

Well Pune is chilly. But that's all. Not a weather which tempts us with piling calories every minute.

Whole Wheat, Oats & Raisins Cookies

One after another there is sickness residing in our home.
Festive month and no baking. of course with ozzy suffering from severe diarrhea, everything is off limits.
It was very easy for the doctor to say nothing except rice and dal.

Well he doesn't know that the great daughter of mine is also a very big foodie. It usually is a challenge to feed her Blaahhh food and now adding bland to the list...wow joy!

Brunch Up ~ Foodie cum Bloggers meet at Courtyard Marriott

The past weekend made all my hard work worth it.
First time in almost two years of my blogging I met a person who knew me because of my blog.

Chocolate Cinnamon Mousse Cake

This week I'm flying back home for a cousin's big fat Punjabi wedding.
And while I have big plans to spend my savings shopping in Delhi. I'm sure I'll make a stopover at that small overflowing book store which sells used book.

Sometime early this year I bought two cookbooks from that very shop at a great bargain.
Now before I go and buy more, I wanted to do justice to the ones already sitting on the shelf looking at me with their longing eyes.

Sugar-free Chocolate & Roasted Almonds Brownies

Its a mere coincidence that yesterday was World Diabetes day and today I am sitting to write about Sugar-free goodness.

I come from a line of heredity diabetes disease. And not just one side of the family. Yes I'm one of the few to share the same disease with both sides of my family. I have to keep a check on what I eat - just as a precautionary measure. A push to the limit a bit until I fall prey to the grey cobwebs of Diabetes.

Churro making workshop at Momo2 Go Cafe ~ Courtyard Marriott City Centre

Last week around this time I was chatting away the details while tasting the left over pastries I bought on my way back from MoMo 2 Go Cafe at Courtyard Marriott City Center.

To say that I had an amazing time at the event would be an understatement.

Rum Cream Pie ~ A Homemade Life

It comes as a surprise how Sid manages to bring me the best of the gifts without even asking.
Well actually he asks me all the time but what’s the fun in getting a gift and not be surprised by it. It’s like going to a shop and buying yourself a gift.

So this year he did very well ;)
We have a tradition of gifting books to each other on birthdays and this year I got this and this.

Canola Oil Event ~ Food Bloggers Meet

It's fun to be a part of food bloggers meet but if it comes with health benefits in a packaged deal, all the better!

Mumbai being Mumbai, my afternoon started with mad traffic on my way to Four Seasons Hotel in Worli. Completely forgot my traffic experience from the last time. Pune spoils you when it comes to all of that.

Even with the traffic I somehow managed to get in time and caught up with some other bloggers while waiting to for the event to start.

Coffee - Chocolate Banana Bread

It’s the comfort of Cinnamon I seek when I feel low. I never understood the reason why people baked at their bottom-most.

Baking is a joyful thing. I usually do it in my highest of spirits (it’s no joke to stand and wait for hours to see that beautiful cake I imagined in my head). Not when I'm sad.

But that was until I actually hit the bottom and all I wanted was the Banana Bread.

French Plum Cake

This is by far the longest I have stayed away from my break away from mundane everyday job.

So this time I am not going to over think about the story that will be enchanting its ways to your hearts...

Lets face the truth! If I start doing that, this post will either keep sitting in my drafts waiting to be finished just like the others or the fruit used for this yummlicious cake will go out of season (speaking off with my personal experience)

Undersea Adventure ~ First Birthday Party for Ojasvi

For the last one year I've been doing my part of the research here. On and off it was there in my head and I had an idea what I would like to do on this day. And yet like every other thing, there were last minute changes which lead to this beautiful day!

One year ago I was blessed with a little bundle of joy. Now she bundles herself up in a blanket and brings joy, happiness and laughter to our lives each day!

Eggless Banana Raisins Muffin

I have a problem when people start judging things by the way they look.

Poor bananas all ripped and ready to be eaten. Sure they don’t look appetizing sporting huge dalmatian spots but they are still firm which totally means, they can be consumed without wrinkling your nose.

But you'll have to close your eyes...

Happy One Year!

This last one year flew over my head.

I tried catching most of it but it was way too fast.

We traveled between three cities, welcomed a new member in our family, started full time job again and fought over time with my watch. Yet loved every second of it.

Misty Mountains Cake

For the first time ever I knew in advance what I was going to bake for Sid's birthday.

That's very rare as I am usually not a very organised person. I hunt for recipes at the last minute, raising expectations and then fighting tooth and nail to meet them.

But this time I knew, no confusion, no last minute changes...none! Yay!

Happy New Year!

It wouldn't be New Year's if I didn't have any regrets. ~ William Thomas

Last January I gathered all my courage and fought over my fear of words. This blog is an example of how my fight against word-o-phobia is going on and the missing posts for each week are the instances where it actually won over my courage.

April last year we were blessed with Ojasvi and since then it was a challenge to take care of two babies. No actually three! Sid doesn't stay very far from that category either.

My little one, who is not so little anymore has started standing up with the help of little support and is a menace in the kitchen. She wants to watch everything going above her head and if she sees something that catches her fancy - she wants it. Period!

Another big thing that happened was that we shifted to Pune in September for my job.
Did I say that 2012 was a roller coaster?

Umm... Yes it was! My love for Pune's weather and small cafes with amazing food has brought us back here - with family this time.

So with a full time job and an infant I feel I am struggling to keep up with blogging but thank god for the weekends, I get enough time in my hands to bake!

We wont end this post with a long list of resolutions for the coming year ahead because I strongly believe that they are meant to be broken.

So with regret of not being regular and a promise to be one in the coming year...

I wish you the best of  health, food and wine for 2013!

Cheers!
