Christmas with Courtyard Marriott, Chakan

When I was young, the idea of gifts on Christmas was very foreign to us. There were no decorated trees, no red stocking and no gifts until we were old enough to do it ourselves with friends and cousins.

This year however it's amazing how Christmas presents came in various shapes and sizes. I got a book from Sid and another gift from Marriott Chakan.

A group of food blogger were invited to enjoy and explore Christmas Eve's spread and brunch the next morning with Courtyard Marriott Chakan and their team.

Chakan is little out of the city and with the help of Google maps and half an hour of drive we were welcomed by our organizer and host Raghav & Shruti. We checked into this luxurious hotel in the midst of an industrial area.

The Hotel is also very environmental conscious as it is LEED certified by U.S. Green Building Council to ensure positive footprints. We were shown around the property and their amenities. It is needless to say that the property has specifically kept in mind the needs of the professionals travelling to Pune for a short / long period.

There was a lovely setup by the poolside and our evening started with wine and introduction session. Sid and I had to make sure that Ozzy doesn't go near the pool lately as she's been showing off her love for water.
The team was very helpful and were offering to take care of my little one while I enjoyed my meeting. They won me over it , and it was just a beginning...

The Christmas dinner spread was an extravagant affair. There were live stations and extensive variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian delights and not to forget about 'to-die-for' Dessert spread.

With our bellies full we moved on to enjoy the evening further with chit chat and late night coffee. It was festive season full of laughter and enjoyment and everyone retired around midnight to start our next day fresh for a "cheese factory" tour.

The next day brought in the most sought after waffle and eggs to order breakfast. Ozzy enjoyed her 'puri aalo' along with freshly squeezed juices. The staff once again floored me with their generosity and care towards my daughter and other kids. It was very nice to see them accommodating lots of kids and their messy tables.

The highlight however were the freshly out of the oven - blueberry and cashew muffins that Ozzy and I could not keep our hands off from.

Our day did not end there. Marriott had organised Cheese factory tour for the bloggers. Now you say cheese to a food blogger and we start running towards it. Govardhan team took us around the factory explaining the process and gave us the taste of fresh mozzarella cheese. Ozzy got super excited watching her favorite cheese slices getting packed.

We were also taken to the dairy farm next where we learnt how the milk is collected, processed and packed for our consumption. I was also introduced to the "Pride of cows" a concept of delivering the freshest milk within 12 hours.

Back to the hotels for high tea and surprise Christmas Pudding made our day even better. Nobody wanted to leave. The hospitality of Marriott won us over yet again!

My family and I had a pleasure to connect with all the bloggers in Pune. This city has a great group and you can read what others have written about them.
